About Us

Columbia Swim League - Volunteer Run - Swim for All

In July of 1963, the Columbia Swimming League (CSL) was formed with  six teams.

Five private clubs – Spring Lake (now called Rockbridge),  Forest Lake, Spring Valley, Columbia Country Club, the Jewish Community  Center and Maxcy Gregg organized the League.

They started with a  five week season beginning July 10th of 1963.

Today, there are 26 full member teams, including the original six  teams. These teams are located throughout the Midlands.

The season runs  from May to July every year and is a great way to make your children,  from 4 to 18 years old, safer around the water.

The season always  concludes with our Annual City Meet, where we have over 1,000 registered  swimmers participating in the two day event held at the USC Sol Blatt PE Center.

The league is operated 100% by volunteers from all teams.

Our goal is to teach water safety and understanding through a fun, healthy swim program while promoting community relationships, volunteerism and swim for all.

The Columbia Swim League is also proud to be able to offer scholarships to deserving swimmers each year through funds raised by each participating team.
